Originally, we planned to create an anti-war exhibition featuring Russian-speaking artists, timed to coincide with 24 months since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. We selected 24 pieces from 24 different artists. However, a few days before the exhibition's opening, when it was already set up, the Kremlin killed Alexey Navalny. The artist Kungfuct, who designed the exhibition poster, then released a new piece titled "+1." In tribute to Alexey’s memory, we added this new work to the exhibition and changed the exhibition's title to "24+1." As a result, the exhibition featured 25 works in total.
