Through the Bars exhibition in Berlin

14-23 February 2025. Berlin. All Rights Reversed gallery(Brunenstrasse 9, 10119).

First exhibition THROUGH THE BARS in Berlin. Artworks from the political prisoners and about the political prisoners. During the exhibition we will held a number of special events raising awareness of this heavy but essential topic. We will keep you updated on them in our Instagram.

Context:

According to human rights organisations, there are at least 1,000 political prisoners in Russia today. These are the bravest people in the country, standing firm in their beliefs despite the cost.

We want to tell their stories and amplify their voices through art. This exhibition format brings together artworks created by political prisoners behind bars and works by professional artists reflecting on this theme.

So far, we have collected over 400 original works by prisoners themselves. We have also launched an ongoing Open Call for free artists to contribute. If your work explores this theme, we invite you to submit completed pieces or ideas for new ones. Contact us at throughthebars.global@gmail.com.

This is a permanent project with no strict deadlines, but the first exhibitions are already scheduled:
