Dance of Brave

«Dance of Brave» is a series of unpersonalized plaster sculptures united by one case and place of action. The prototype for their creation was real people detained by the police at a protest in the centre of Moscow. Their poses, if you remove all the unnecessary, often look like a strange, unnatural dance, with curves that are not typical of the human body at rest. This work is dedicated to all those who dared to protest despite the danger of being brutally detained and/or beaten by OMON and Rosgvardia.

The green square background is the colour of military hardware, in which many entrances, playgrounds and city fences in Russia have been painted. It was a constant backdrop to the lives of the Soviet and post-Soviet generation, who today oppose the ongoing dictatorship and see a future Russia free from parasitic rule.

One of the sculptures is missing, symbolising those who now remain the heroes of our memory.
