A series of paintings depicting a bloody birch forest and its inhabitants. The second work in the series shows the main Russian propagandists drowned in lies and blood.
From this same sea of blood grow and feed the birch trees, which have become a symbol of Russia and its imperialism, a metaphor for Russian authorities. Blood is the source of life and strength for the trees, as cruelty, violence and lies become the basis of the existing regime. The political system, sustained by distortion of reality and manipulation, grows out of fear. And for the ‘people’ smiling in this painting, blood is not a tragedy or a symbol of guilt - it has become a natural part of the system they consciously serve.
