Past Continuous

2022, paper/plywood engraving/calligraphy, 80 × 120 cm

This work presents a view of a curtain, and it doesn’t take long to understand what kind of curtain that is and what it is supposed to separate from. The title "Past Continuous" ironically refers to the familiar tense from English grammar lessons in school, while also directly informing the viewer that time has ceased its linear progression and turned backwards, where the past continuously persists.
